Oakmere Park Golf Club

Rated locally as one of Nottinghamshire's best courses. Based right here in Oxton and with three beautiful free draining heathland courses playable in all weathers if golf is your thing then Oakmere Park is definately worth a visit during your stay.

Southwell

Often described as the 'jewel in Nottinghamshire's crown', the charming market town of Southwell is just a 10 minute drive from Oxton. Here you will find a magnificent cathedral, an array of shops, cafe's restaurants and much much more to see and explore.

Sherwood Pines

Explore one of the Midland’s most well-known forests, with activity trails, play areas, bike hire, wild running and mountain biking trails. Sherwood Pines is a great day out for all the family.

Rufford Abbey

Just 15 minutes from Oxton you will find Rufford Abbey which makes for a great day out. Originally a Cistercian abbey, it was converted to a country house in the 16th century. You can walk through the picturesque grounds, enjoy the seasonal activities including archery, a boating lake and adventure golf or simply relax and have a bite to eat.

Newark Castle

Newark Castle and Gardens are lovely formal gardens bordered by the remaining walls of Newark Castle which was partly destroyed in 1646 at the end of the English Civil War. During your visit you can relax in the quiet garden areas and admire the picturesque views. 

Entertainment often occurs seasonally, with a bandstand for concerts available, and makes for a great day out.
